February Is Women in Horror Month. Woo!

Hey, Horror Fans,

Here we are in February, can you believe it? They say time seems to go by faster as you get older. I’m beginning to believe it.

Anyway, as horror fans, you probably already know that this month is Women in Horror month. If you’re looking for a new read, why not pick up a book by any one of the extremely talented female authors out there? The ladies deserve a little love, too.

Here are a couple of my favorites from late 2014:

First up is Angel Manor by Chantal Noordeloos. Chantal pulled out all the stops for this spellbinding haunted house-type novel. It’s disturbing, disgusting, exciting and will leave you wanting more.

For a light read, great for those who don’t like their horror too dark, check out Jaime Johnesee’s Bob the Zombie. Poor Bob got himself killed and turned into a zombie. He tries his best to live a normal life, but he keeps losing body parts.

Dustby Allison Dickson is a creepy short story about the last man on Earth and how he struggles to stay alive against the Dust. If one speck of Dust falls on him, he’s dead. This is probably my favorite story written by Allison.

For more suggestions, check out Malina Roos’ Solstice List 2014. There, you will find her favorite books of last year, many of which are by some fantastic female authors.

I’ll leave you now with one last thought, if you read one of these or other books written by a female (or male) horror author, please consider leaving a review. Reviews help to spread the word, and get these fantastic ladies noticed. Even if you don’t like a book, a bad review is never unwelcome.

Until next time. Happy reading!
