Hola, people. I don’t have anything new to review right now so I thought I’d tell you about some books horror fans like you might be interested in. Many are available for pre-order so I’ll give you the links when applicable.
First up, we have a tale that came out in 2012, just got a makeover, and will be re-released by Horrific Tales Publishing on April 3. Bottled Abyss is fantasy-horror novel written by Benjamin Kane Ethridge and tells the story of Herman and Janet Erikson, two parents trying to cope with the death of their young daughter. In the middle of dealing with their tragedy, the family dog disappears and Herman goes out to find him. Herman doesn’t realize he’s on the path to the River Styx. I’m about halfway through this book now and so far, it is beautifully written and captivating. Although you can pick up the original here, (paperback only) you really should wait for the ‘new and improved’ version.
Next is The Bear Who Wouldn’t Leave. As 10-year-old Josh copes with the death of his dad, his mom remarries and Josh hates his new stepfather. One day, his stepdad gives him a creepy teddy bear and life for Josh and his family will never be the same. The Bear Who Wouldn’t Leave comes out on May 5, but you can pre-order it right now! Perfect for those who tend to avoid extreme horror.
Extreme horror fans don’t want to miss Matt Shaw’s Don’t Read. I can’t even begin to tell you how absolutely disgusting this book is. Shaw set out to write the most disturbing and disgusting book of his career, and he accomplished his goal. Of course, behind the blood and gore is a great story. This one releases on May 1 but is available for pre-order here.
Although there is no set release date yet, I have it on good authority that the third and final installment of the Whisper trilogy by Michael Bray is in its final editing phase and should be coming out fairly soon.
Graeme Reynolds is currently working on the final installment of the High Moor series and I am so excited about this one, I could squeal. No release date has been set yet. If you like werewolves, you’re missing out by not reading these books!
One final book here and I’m sorry to add this in at the last minute, but I couldn’t find the link for it earlier. T.W. Brown’s Dead: Snapshot Portland, Oregon comes out on April 15. This is one zombie book I’m looking forward to because if anyone does zombies right, it is the fantastic Mr. Brown.
There you have it. These are some of the books I’m looking forward to. Enjoy!
